Hunting

It's been a while since I last hunted, and I was getting pretty ravenous. While I was out looking for some unsuspecting animal, I ran into this dude named "Jack".
He told me he was also "hunting". Yeah, right Jack. Hunting with a golf club? What kind of damage are you gonna do with that? Anyway, he told me he needed some bacon for a new sandwich he's creating at his restaurant. Seems he's the owner of a chain of fast food joints around the United States. Hmm, never heard of him. Jack asked me what I was doing and I told him I was also on the hunt. He said he saw a pig in the bushes and was headed back out to get him. Jack said that I was more than welcome to join him on his hunt for the pig. I was considering taking him up on his offer, but then remembered that my girl, Linda, loves pigs! She has a rather large collection of pigs ... ceramic, stuffed, keychains, frames, you name it, she probably has it. Since Linda was my hostess, I didn't feel right about killing a pig. I went to find Jack to let him know that I wasn't joining him. I found him just as he was about to deliver the fatal blow with his golf club and told him that he shouldn't kill the pig, and that I would get him the bacon he so desperately needed.

Jack agreed so I ran back to Linda's place and grabbed the frozen bacon I found in her freezer. He'll never know where I got it from.
After giving the bacon to Jack, he thanked me and said that if I was ever in need of a fast food meal, to please look him up and he would take care of me. Uh, yeah, dude. Thanks. After rescuing Piggy, I decided to give him to Linda.
She was so very happy to get him that she gave me lots of hugs and kisses. That put me over the top. Being so close to fresh human blood and not being able to have it made me jump on the next animal I came in contact with ...

A donkey and a kangaroo dressed up as a tiger? Are you kidding me? Well, they both looked so tasty I couldn't decide ... but the kangaroo did have a little more meat on him, so I dove in and satisfied my craving ...

Ahhhh. Finally. Satisfied. For now ...

Creatures

After checking out that awful fire, I needed to get some peace and quiet so I headed back to Linda's place. So much for peace and quiet. What did I hear all night long? Ribbit, croak, ribbit, croak. It made me crazy! What made it worse was I knew what he was thinking! He was hungry, just like me. It's been a while since I last hunted, but I'll be doing that soon. If this frog was making me crazy, I can only imagine how Linda and her family must've felt! I felt sorry for the guy, so I decided to help him hunt for some bugs.

Apparently, here in Hawaii, there are these huge cockroaches the locals call "B-52s". They fly and chase you if you try to kill them! Eeewww! I mean, watch out roach! I'm coming for you!

Well, after I caught that bugger and gave him to Mr. Frogger, I needed to make a quick escape because it was creeping me out. I know, I shouldn't be so scared of a little roach, but yuck! That one was gross! I decided to slide down the railing instead of using my lightning fast running.

Ahhh, I made it. Now on to the hunt ...

Off to work

I finally got to meet Linda's BFF, Kyoko. She is such a sweet lady! No wonder Linda likes her so much! I think she was a little nervous about meeting me though, because as soon as she shook my hand, she said that she had to leave her office to do something. I waited and waited, but she never came back!

I decided that I was just going to have to wait for her, which is exactly what I did. She did eventually come back, and I think after spending some time with me, she finally felt comfortable being around me. She even let me hang around her office while she worked! Here I am, "staring" at Kyoko ...

Linda called Kyoko on the phone and said that she was lonely without me, so I headed back down to Linda's station. She was so happy to see me that she screamed! The people up and down the hall came out of their offices to see what the commotion was about but because I'm so quick and agile, I was able to hide under Linda's shelf. She explained that she thought she saw a giant roach, which she really, really hates, but it was nothing. They all went back to their offices, shaking their heads. I climbed up onto Linda's desk, where I stayed for the rest of the day, "staring" at her. She told me that made her very happy.

Being with Linda and Kyoko all day made me really thirsty. I desperately needed to hunt. Believe it or not, I found a zebra while roaming the streets of Honolulu. I am satisfied and content. For now.

I joined MY girls at a local summer social this past Saturday. One (or all) of them will be posting some crazy things that happened there. Until next time, think about this: If I could dream at all, it would be about you. And I’m not ashamed of it ...

Jacob?

After spending some time with Jodi, I decided to head back to Linda's place for a quick visit. Remember the last time I was there? She gave me a pair of rubber slippers to wear and she said that she thought a "dog" may have chewed on them before I got there. Well, well, well. Lookie here! As I was rounding the corner to Linda's front door, I thought I smelled something foul. Jacob! What was he doing here? I ran into the house to make sure that Linda was ok. She said she found Jacob sitting outside on the front porch waiting for her and because he looked so sad (I think he looked pathetic), she decided to invite him in. She gave him some food and water and then he was out the door in a flash. No thank you, no nothing. Just what I would expect from a dog.

Linda assured me that everything was alright and that I didn't need to worry about her. She showed me a couple of magazines she had recently read. She sure is a huge fan of Twilight. I told her I would autograph this magazine for her, but she said she didn't want me to hurt my arm. Funny girl ...

Oh my goodness! I can't believe she read this too! She must think I'm a total loser! I told Linda that I can't stand all the negative things that are said about me in the media. She said that she understood most everything that is printed about me and my social life are just rumors to sell rag mags. If only people knew the real me ...

Why can't the paparazzi just leave me alone???

Sorry, I lost it there for a moment. I don't often throw tantrums, but I think it's time to hunt soon. That's what must be bothering me. Linda is taking me to work with her tomorrow so maybe I'll be able to hunt while she's in her office. Until next time, think about this: Do you think that I could be scary?

Getting acquainted

Here I am checking out more of my new surroundings at Linda's house. Her place is definitely smaller than Jamee's place. She only has one tree growing in her tiny yard. Here is the view of it from her patio.

There are quite a few of these potted plants here. I learned that they are the ti plant and they are grown in many yards all around the State of Hawaii. Linda got these plants from her parents when she moved to her home almost 11 years ago. Legend says these plants are for good luck and protection from evil spirits. You can read a little bit more about the ti plant here.

While I was outside, Linda asked me if I wanted to change into "rubber slippers". Hmm. I didn't know how to respond. As politely as I could, I said, "Thanks for the offer, but I'm just fine." Then she gave me a pair of these and said that I might be more comfortable in them instead of my shoes. Oh! She was talking about flip flops! Linda apologized for giving me this pair - if you look closely, you can see that a little chunk was bitten off the backs of these. She left them outside the night before I arrived and said a "dog" must've come by and chewed on them. Gee, I wonder if Jacob new I was coming ...
By the way, in case you didn't know, I believe the custom here in Hawaii is to remove your shoes before entering someone's home. I didn't know that, and Linda didn't say anything. But I did notice that she and her family walked around their house barefoot so I did the same. She said she gave me those slippers to wear later on if I decided to walk around during the night. After her family went to bed, Linda stayed up with me and we talked for a bit. She said that she, Jamee and Jodi are huge fans of Twilight and that their other passion is papercrafting. All three of them have blogs, which I will definitely be checking out when I have some free time. She showed me an image that she stamped, colored and cut out. Funny, this guy sure reminds me of someone ...

I'm gonna have to hunt soon. Make sure you come back again for more of my Hawaiian Adventures. Until next time, think about this: Do I dazzle you?

Visiting another friend

What a night! I had a blast at the slumber party with Jamee and her friends. They're a bunch of really fun gals - the little guys were really cool too. It's a good thing I left when I did though. The smell of all those humans was beginning to overwhelm me. At least I was able to hunt before going to Linda's house. Here I am, ringing her doorbell. She knew I was coming and said she had a surprise for me. I wonder what it is ...

Well! This isn't what I was expecting at all! I have to say that I'm a little embarrassed. As soon as we met she gave me a big hug and kiss and said she wanted to give me a lei! Oh! I get it now! This is what they do in Hawaii! They give you a flower lei as a gift when you're visiting the Islands. Hmm, what kind of lei were you all thinking about? Now, now, let's keep it clean.

Here I am, after being "lei'd" in Hawaii, by my new friend, Linda. Thank you, Linda, that was a very nice thing to do for me. I believe she told me this is a Maile lei. She wanted me to have a lei that was more masculine than feminine.

I had a gift for Linda too. Here I am giving her the famous Twilight apple.

While my hostess was busy preparing dinner for her family, I went outside to check out the new surroundings. Hmm, not as lush as Jamee's place, but I think I'll be okay here. At least for a couple of days.

Until next time, look after my heart ~ I've left it with you ...
